For Partners: Events with SheSharp

SheSharp offers various event types in coordination with our partners in Amsterdam and across the world. Each event type requires a different level of commitment and cooperation from both SheSharp and the partner: ranging for high-effort signature and strategic events, to low-effort community and promoted events.

Signature events

Signature events constitute SheSharp’s largest-scale event offering. They involve heavy time commitment, organization, cost, and promotion, and can attract over a hundred attendees. SheSharp aims to hold 1-2 signature events per year.

SheSharp responsibilities (80-90% ownership)

SheSharp is responsible for designing the event: including topic, structure, and timing. With our signature events, we aim to provide value and content that is unique to SheSharp. Planning and execution is also led by us, with support as needed from partners. For example, we select the speaker list, but partners may suggest certain speakers for consideration.

Partner responsibilities (10-20% ownership)

We rely on partners to support logistics and/or sponsor the event. This could look like:

  1. Operations: Event space, catering, hybrid streaming support, technical platform (e.g. to manage hackathon submissions)

  2. Sponsorship: Pay speakers, fund swag/prizes, sponsor event space

  3. Promotion: Share event details with your community on social media

Branding

From a branding perspective, we consider partners to be event sponsors. Your logo and information will be promoted to the SheSharp community in some event messaging.

Strategic events

This is where partners and SheSharp come together to organize a high-impact event for both of our communities! These are commonly talks and panels on topics specific to the tech industry, and/or being underrepresented within it — unique to SheSharp and your company. We aim to hold 1-2 strategic partner events per year.

SheSharp responsibilities (20-50% ownership)

SheSharp and the partner are responsible for co-designing the event. SheSharp can help source speakers, suggest topics, and advise on the structure of the event to ensure the highest quality and value. Event planning and execution is a joint endeavor.

Partner responsibilities (50-80% ownership)

We rely on partners to help organize, run, and promote the event. This could look like:

  1. Organization: Speaker recommendations, topic ideation, decide on required platforms

  2. Operations: Event space, catering, hybrid streaming support, technical platform (e.g. Troopl for hackathon submissions)

  3. Sponsorship: Pay speakers, fund swag/prizes

  4. Promotion: Share event details with your community on social media

Branding

From a branding perspective, we consider partners to be equal organizers, and will brand and promote the event as such. Your logo and information will be shared with the SheSharp community in all event messaging.

3

Hosted community events

Community events are focused on connecting members in an informal environment. Activities include networking, lightning talks, an overview of hiring opportunities, and office tours. They take place at your office, where you provide the venue and catering.

SheSharp responsibilities (70-90% ownership)

SheSharp is responsible for designing the event, such as organizing lightning talks. We will collaborate with you to include any company-specific content you want to highlight, such as an office tour, an overview of job opportunities, or an introduction of your company to our community.

Partner responsibilities (10-30% ownership)

Partners are expected to:

  1. Provide a venue and catering for in-person networking

  2. If interested and applicable, arrange office tour and/or presentation on job opportunities at your company

Branding

Your logo and information will be shared with the SheSharp community in all event messaging. In addition, SheSharp can promote both the event and related job or study opportunities.

4

Sponsored community events

Community events are focused on connecting members in an informal environment. Activities include networking and co-working. They take place at another location, like a restaurant, co-working space. They could also take place virtually.

SheSharp responsibilities (100% ownership)

SheSharp is fully responsible for the organization and execution of sponsored community events.

Partner responsibilities (0% ownership)

A community event costs €300-€600 to run, depending on the number of people in attendance. In order to sponsor a community event, we require a minimum donation of €200 from companies.

If the event is in-person, you are also welcome to come to the event to present briefly on your company and any open positions for which you are hiring. Please let one of the SheSharp organizers know you're interested in this when planning the event, and we'll set it up!

Branding

As the sponsor of an event, your logo and information will be shared with the SheSharp community in all event messaging.

5

Co-branded events

If your company already holds events and workshops but you want to reach more women and gender-nonconforming individuals in the tech industry, a co-branded event may be a great fit for you. SheSharp can identify which content would be the highest value for underrepresented individuals, and promote your exclusive event to our community. We aim to hold 2-3 co-branded events per year.

SheSharp responsibilities (5-10% ownership)

SheSharp will help you promote the event and any related content (like job opportunities). We will also advise on whether the existing event content is appropriate as-is, or should be changed for SheSharp's specific audience. In certain cases, we can connect you with potential venues for an in-person event.

Partner responsibilities (90-95% ownership)

As our partner, you take on the bulk of organizing and running the event. If it is virtual, you have an events platform you are familiar with, and will handle logistics both before and on the day. If it is in-person, you likely have a venue, catering, etc. available to use. You will also cover any costs associated with the event, including speaker fees.

Branding

We co-brand the event to ensure that it is elevated within our community. If you are recruiting for a particular skillset and wish to attract candidates in that field, SheSharp can promote both the event and related job or study opportunities. Your logo and information will be shared with the SheSharp community in all event messaging.

6

Promoted events

If your company or organization has already organized a larger, ticketed event, SheSharp can promote your event in exchange for free tickets. There is no limit on the number of events we can promote per year; however, we will only consider events that are relevant to — and inclusive of — our community of women and gender-nonconforming individuals in tech.

SheSharp responsibilities (0% ownership)

We will promote the event on SheSharp social media channels. We will also host a ticket giveaway on both social media and in our open Slack community.

Partner responsibilities (100% ownership)

We expect you to cross-promote the event on social media channels listing SheSharp as a community partner.

Branding

We will not use the SheSharp brand to promote your event.
