What is proof of study? How do I submit it?

To meet the "proof of study" criteria in your application, you must provide evidence of a program or learning plan towards which you wish to use the scholarship funds. You must start your studies no later than 3 months after the selection date.

Proof of study can be:

What constitutes an eligible self-study expense?

Self-study materials include books and online coursework. The content must be related to a technical topic, such as coding, UX/UI design, or cybersecurity. Job search resources (e.g. resume review) and study aids (e.g hardware, planning software) are not eligible for the scholarship.

What if I haven't begun self-study yet, but aspire to with the support of this scholarship?

It's not necessary to have begun self-studying yet! To meet the "proof of study" criteria in your application, you must provide a learning plan (e.g. syllabus) of self-study materials you intend to purchase in the next year. If you're chosen as our winner, we'll work with you to purchase those materials so you can start studying.

I am currently enrolled in a learning program. Can I use the scholarship funds towards my current program, even though I have already paid for it?

Yes. If you are currently studying and are chosen as our winner, you can apply your funds to either your current program or future ones: whichever you have submitted as "proof of study" in your application.

Can I use the scholarship to buy a new computer?

Hardware purchases are unfortunately out of scope for this scholarship. The funds should be aimed specifically at educational and career building expenses.

I’ve never had a FTE (full-time equivalent) role in the tech industry, can I still apply?

Yes. If you have never had a full-time role in the tech industry, you are welcome to apply.
